  • Fairy Tales Birthday - Doodlebug Design Team Project

Hello, I have some Doodlebug birthday projects to share using the new Fairy Tales Collection. What a fun happy collection this is, the unicorns are so adorable and so is everything else!! I can't wait to make some projects with the cut files. I made a shaker card using a rainbow of doodlebug sequins and some beads, since the sticker is on top of the acetate I put a generous amount inside so it would shake really good. I used a bag from the Silhouette Design Store and added the rainbow and clouds from the odds and ends pack to create the handle. All the stickers are from the icon sticker sheet. That background paper is so cute, it has a little bit of everything in the collection on it. This saying is so sweet, I think everyday should be a rainbow and unicorn kind of day! The green and polka dot paper is from the rainbow swiss dot petite print assortment pack. The cupcake box is from the Silhouette Design Store and the birthday hat card is a die from My Creative Time. I added a couple of the birthday girl glitter sprinkles and one of the rainbow heart sprinkles. The twine is from the bright twine pack which has 6 different colors. Another twine color from the bright pack, more glitter sprinkles and a cupcake boutique button. I actually make this really quick using a die from My Creative Time because I just love this paper so much. All those colorful happy balloons bunched together, it's so adorable!! I hope you've enjoyed these projects, thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

  • AWH Team - June Creative Showcase - New Catalogue Products

Hi everyone & welcome to this month's Art With Heart Team Creative Showcase. Tonight the team are featuring projects using their favourite products from the new Stampin' Up! 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue. The new catalogue is full of amazing new stamp sets, some bundled with dies or punches, and some absolutely fabulous product suites. Kits, papers and accessories complete the range of products that you will see in tonight's showcase. I will confess that the Forever Greenery Suite on pages 108 to 110 of the new Annual Catalogue was not on my "must have" list. But after seeing so many lovely cards and projects made with products from the suite, I just had to buy it. I will also confess that I was sure I wouldn't really use the Gold Hoops Embellishments, but as you'll see in the cards I'm sharing with you tonight, I just couldn't resist using them. Here is card No.1 I saw this Fun Fold design on a YouTube video by Amanda Charlesworth, a UK demonstrator. Instead of a belly band to hold the gate fold card from opening, the decorated square panel slides between the gap in the card front. Four same sized squares are used to make it. Here's a close up shot. It's such a simple but clever idea. I dry embossed the Pretty Peacock square using the leaf and berries pattern from the Greenery Embossing Folders. There are two patterns in this embossing folder set and you will see the other design on my second card. I stamped one of the images from the Forever Fern stamp set in Pretty Peacock to give the background some colour depth. The sentiment on the Whisper White stitched circle is from the Butterfly Wishes stamp set and I repeated the background stamp but this time in Just Jade - one of our new 2020-2022 In Colors. You can see now why I had to use one of the Gold Hoops Embellishments! I attached the hoop with glue dots and used die cut leaves from the Forever Flourishing Dies to cover them. These are cut from Just Jade and Shaded Spruce cardstock. You'll notice that some of the leaves are under the hoop and others are sitting on top. And look at that gorgeous spray of gold leaves, it's from the Forever Gold Laser-cut Specialty Paper. I attached the sentiment with Stampin' Dimensionals and added a double bow made with the metallic trim from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack. (The other item in this two pack is a 1/2" open weave Vanilla Ribbon). I also added three of the new 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots in Just Jade. Inside the card I added a half inch strip of a pattern from the Forever Greenery Designer Series Paper, and a stamped die cut with a tiny gold trim bow. Here is card No. 2 On this card I've used the same Fun Fold design but this time I added some Night of Navy cardstock and ink, and I think it really compliments the 'greens' within this suite. In this photo you can see the other patterned embossing folder from the Greenery Embossing Folders set. I embossed half of the Just Jade square and stamped another image from the Forever Fern stamp set on the opposite side. The image and greeting are both stamped in Night of Navy ink. I added the gold hoop and leaf die cuts the same way as on the first card and embellished with the gold trim and enamel dots. The sentiment was die cut using a Stitched Rectangles Die and is attached with Stampin' Dimensionals. I repeated the simple stamping on the inside of the card. Unfortunately, I don't possess a natural "green thumb" but with the help of the gorgeous Forever Greenery Suite I think that I've created a couple of botanical beauties! Thank you for stopping by. The next demonstrator to share her 'new product' project is the lovely, Catherine Proctor. • A Jar of Spring Flowers

I made this card to embrace that springtime feeling that is in the air in the lead up to Easter. I know that for us in the southern hemisphere the whole connection with new life is lost, but at least in Melbourne there are still flowers which bloom throughout the colder months of the year. I love the use of vellum for the jar. It gives just the right kind of appearance to make it look more realistic. If you are careful you can tie the baker's twine around it before sticking it down. Make sure that you put the liquid glue where the stamped part is to hide it. With vellum there's very little hiding! Here's everything you need to make this card yourself. Just click on any item to be taken straight to it in my store. • Sketched Shapes Day Four

Yay! It's day four of the Papertrey Ink April countdown. I've been so excited to share some more of my new set Sketched Shapes with you that I just had to squeeze in a second blog post today to do so. So, please be sure to scroll down a bit and check out my first blog post of the day. My focus is on rainbows, and how perfectly this set showcases such a color combo. Check it out... First up, the trusty triangles... I seriously can't put these guys down! To create a super simple one layer card, all I needed to do was stamp the triangles in a slightly overlapping pattern and let the sketched design take over to give this project its WOW factor. Up close it really is a cool effect. But leave it to the hubby to step in, fool around and distract me from remembering to take a close up shot of that detail. Oops. :) Ha ha! Should I tell him that he has now made his first official appearance on the blog?! Circles and rainbows make for a very happy card. Here's another one layer wonder for you all today. Hey, I don't think I've mentioned the fact that there are fun circles in this Sketched Shapes set of mine. Three of them in fact... small, medium and large. They look great randomly stamped in a rainbow of colors! Well, that's all I've got for you today. Just remember... this stamp sets will be available for purchase through Papertrey Ink, beginning April 15th. In the mean time, I'd love to know what you think so far, so please feel free to share! Now, be sure to visit Nichole Heady, Heather Nichols, Dawn McVey, Melissa Bickford & Lizzie Jones have peeks to share with you of their newest sets for the month. Thanks so much for stopping by! • Taylored Expressions Cards for Holiday Occasions

Hello, friends, and Happy New Year! I wanted to share a few cards I made this holiday season for several occasions...from Christmas to thank you's for holiday gifts to my daughter's holiday birthday (celebrated on 12/29). My first set of cards are slimline cards using the Taylored Expressions "Foil It - Seasonal Sprig" paired with sentiments from the "Seasonal Sprig" stamp set and the coordinating "Mini Slim Seasonal Sprig Layering Stencil." I used various colors of Deco foil and ran the panels through my Scotch laminator...and voila! I love the shine! My next card is a thank you note (with a sentiment from Papertrey Ink) featuring one of the four designs in the "Create-in-Quads - Mistletoe Layering Stencil" set. I do love a one-layer card! Finally, I wanted to share the one-layer birthday card I made for my daughter who turned 20 on December 29th. This card features another design in the "Create-in-Quads - Mistletoe Layering Stencil" set. (The sentiment is from a set of TE stamps that were free with purchase.) We had snow here today...not much, but enough to have a snow day off on the first day back to school after the winter break! (Crazy, especially since it was 65 degrees here yesterday!) Thanks, as always, for stopping by! Judy
